Why is my new class for quiet revolutionaries?
Because I am one, and I know I'm not alone.
Just over five years ago, I published my first anti-racism article of the current era (there were a few others before).
I didn't know then that writing about it, and using my background as an educator to teach about it would lead to appearances at conferences, panels, events, podcasts and video shows. I didn't know it would lead to me starting a community. I didn't know it would change the way people saw me - and the way I saw myself.
After all, I'm an introvert - and being visible isn't my favourite thing.
It helped that I did it my way, starting with playing to my strengths. I've been a writer for almost four decades now and so that was a great place to start.
I know there are other people out there now who are like I was then. Being made to feel there's something wrong with you for being quiet. Getting overlooked in favour of louder voices in the room. Having great ideas but wondering about the best way to share them. And wanting to show leadership and make an impact without burning out.
Sometimes it helps to SEE it so you can BE it.
That's what this class offers. Ask anyone who's taken a class with me before and they'll confirm. I am transparent about what's worked and what hasn't. I share what I've learned from personal experience AND what I've learned via my excellent research skills. I show empathy for where you're coming from and suggest action to help you move forward.
I offer real strategies for real people ready to make real change - without changing themselves.
