Today, I enforced a boundary.

I didn't have a conversation about it. I just did it. For myself.

Someone wanted to book a meeting with me on a day that I'd set aside as a no-call day. (Yes, that's a thing in my calendar; one every week.)

I could feel the temptation to say yes because it would be easier for them.

That's how we're socialised as women, and as Black and Global Majority women. (Be honest: how many times have you said yes when your body is really saying no?)

But I didn't. I held firm, and suggested another date.

Because I'm an introvert, and my mid-week respite from calls matters.

And the promises I keep to myself matter even more.

Energy management is crucial for introverts, and setting boundaries to help with that is absolutely essential. This also matters if you're neurodivergent or frazzled by the "always-on" culture.

But sometimes it's hard. Especially since we live in a world where the Davids and Jeremys push constant presence as a signal of success.

There are other ways, and I've proved that myself. Now it's time to share.

That's why I've spent the last few months creating the RECHARGE method for introverts wanting impact without exhaustion. (That's been my catchphrase this year, and it'll probably be one of mine every year.)

Update: I’ve run two 8-day taster versions and am currently recruiting into the creator cohort for the 8-week version. Get in touch to learn more.
